Maybe you’re in a parking lot with shopping melting in the cart, maybe you’re at the trailhead, maybe it’s midnight and the street is empty. Whatever the situation, we’ll come to where the car is and open it without damaging the door, the lock or the weather seal. One thing worth saying clearly: we open vehicles, but we don’t cut or program replacement keys. If your keys are genuinely lost rather than locked inside, we’ll tell you on the phone and point you toward a dealer or auto locksmith who can help — no callout, no charge.
What You Can Try Before Contacting a Locksmith
We’d rather you save the money if there’s a simple way out of it. Before you call, it’s worth spending two minutes on the checks below — they solve a fair number of lockouts on their own. If none of them work, call us and we’ll take it from there.
Check every door, the tailgate and the trunk
It sounds obvious, but plenty of lockouts end here. Central locking doesn’t always catch every door, especially on older vehicles or if a door wasn’t fully shut. Walk the car and try each handle, including the rear hatch or tailgate. On some models the trunk releases separately and gives you access to the cabin through folding rear seats.
Track down the spare, or check your phone
Is there a spare at home, at work, or with a partner or neighbour who could bring it over? It’s also worth checking whether your vehicle has a companion app. Many manufacturers now offer remote unlocking through an app or a phone call to their assistance line, provided the vehicle is registered to you. That can get you in without anyone coming out at all.
Check whether you're already covered
Roadside assistance often includes lockout help, and people forget they have it. Check your auto insurance policy, your credit card benefits, and any breakdown cover you pay for. If you’re covered, use it. If the wait time they quote you is too long — and at busy hours it often is — call us and we’ll usually beat it.
