Lock Re-Keying in Boise & the Treasure Valley
Same locks, brand-new key. Every old key stops working.

Moving Into a New Place
Nobody knows how many keys to a house exist by the time you get the keys yourself. Previous owners, tenants, a cleaner, a dog walker, a contractor, a neighbour who was holding a spare five years ago — none of it shows up on the paperwork. Re-keying on move-in day is the cheapest peace of mind available. We re-pin every exterior lock to one fresh key, and every key that existed before stops working the moment we’re done. Landlords: this is the same job between tenancies, and it costs a fraction of new hardware on every door.
Lost Keys, Old Spares and Changed Circumstances
A key goes missing from a bag, a housemate moves out, a relationship ends, or a spare you handed over years ago never came back. In every one of those cases the lock still works perfectly — the problem is who can open it. Re-keying solves that without replacing a single piece of hardware. If you’d rather have new locks fitted, we can supply and install those too, but for most homes re-keying does the same job for less.
Re-Key, or Replace the Locks?
“Re-keying changes the pins inside the lock you already own, so it opens to a new key and nothing else. The lock stays on the door, nothing gets drilled, and it takes a few minutes per cylinder. For the large majority of homes this is the right answer.”
“Replacing means new hardware on the door. It’s worth it if the lock is worn, damaged, or if you simply want an upgrade on the finish or the security grade. We can supply and fit new locks, and we’ll tell you honestly which of the two your door actually needs.”

Control over who can open your door, back in your hands
Re-keying is one of those jobs people put off for months and then wish they’d done on the first day. It isn’t expensive, it doesn’t take long, and it doesn’t leave any trace on the door — but it closes off every key that was ever cut for that lock. Whether you’ve just moved in, just changed the locks on a rental, or just realised you have no idea where that third spare went, one visit puts the question to rest. Call and you’ll get a price for the whole house before we set off, based on how many locks need doing.
Other Services
Home Lockouts
Keys inside, door shut, nobody else home. We open residential doors without damaging the lock or the frame, and we’re usually there well before a locksmith shop opens.
Auto Lockouts
Keys locked in the car, engine running or not. We open the vehicle and get you on your way. Note that we open cars only — we don’t cut or program replacement keys.
Home Rekeying
New tenant, lost key, or a spare you’d rather wasn’t out there. We re-pin your existing locks to a brand-new key, so old keys stop working. New locks supplied and fitted if you’d prefer.
